Meet Fred! Fred is very sweet and playful. Like all kittens Fred is a bundle of energy, running around one minute and ready for naps the very next. This cat has had an episode of inappropriate toileting whilst at the shelter. This cat is particularly fastidious (clean) and will toilet outside the tray if it has been used already that day. Providing multiple trays (2-4) appeared to resolve/ prevent this cat from toileting outside the tray. Whilst inappropriate toileting can indicate a medical problem, we have assessed this cat and there are currently no medical issues of concern. This cat has had intermittent bouts of diarrhoea whilst in our care. We have done faecal tests, and there is currently no infectious cause. This cat no longer has diarrhoea, and is on a specific diet called Hills Digestive Care (I/D) to manage their digestive health. I/D is a complete and balanced diet for kittens and adult cats, and can be fed life long. We recommend continuing to feed I/D for at least 2-3 months. If stools are still normal after this time a very gradual diet transition to an alternate diet can be attempted. We recommend a slow transition over 3-4 weeks. Fred is desexed, microchipped and toilet trained. Vaccinations, flea and worm treatments are up to date.
