Meet Ebony! Ebony is a sweet little lady! She can be a little timid to begin with, but once comfortable in her new space and person/people she warms up quickly and will reveal her smoochy self. Ebony hates other cats, so is not suited to a home with other cats. We are unsure how she feels about children or cat-friendly dogs, but would recommend slow gentle introductions if she were to share her space with either. Ebony has some white on the edges of her ears, and a pale nose. These areas are more prone to developing sunburn and skin cancers. The best way to minimize UV exposure is keep them indoors and avoid direct sunlight between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Cat friendly sunscreen is available but DO NOT use human sunscreen on your cat as it could be toxic and make them very unwell. Ebony has a mild degree of luxating patellas, a condition in which the knee-cap (patella) temporarily dislocates or moves out of its normal position. There are no other abnormalities detected with the joints, and Ebony is currently asymptomatic i.e. the condition is not causing any pain or lameness. There is no need for treatment at this stage, however we recommend yearly vet checks at your regular vet to monitor the condition. The other thing that will help keep her knees comfortable is keeping Ebony at an ideal body weight. Ebony is desexed, microchipped and toilet trained. Vaccinations, flea and worm treatments are up to date.
