Florence
After the first stage of her major dental surgery, Florence spent a week in foster care before returning to the Centre. The surgery was completed with the remainder of her molars and pre molars on her right side extracted. This left her with just her canines.
After a total of 5 hours in surgery her major dental was now officially complete and she was placed back in foster on anti-biotics, anti-inflammatories, and pain relief.
With her foster carer’s support, Florence recovered well and enjoyed exploring her surrounds. She made the most of climbing onto high spots and always took the opportunity to sit next to her carers.
A week later she returned to the Centre for a check-up. The left side of her mouth had healed well but a small amount of inflammation was present on the right which should heal up soon. She was ready for adoption.
After a total of 74 days in care and 8 days in the adoption rooms Florence found her new family and so begun the next stage of her life.
Mowgli
Many of you will remember Mowgli from his life saving tail operation back in September last year. Mowgli won the hearts of staff, volunteers, and foster carers alike during his 161 days in our care. Unfortunately, Mowgli’s story wasn’t one with a happy ending. A few weeks ago he developed a health issue and a heart-breaking decision had to be made.
You can read our tribute to Mowgli here.
Crisco
We first met Crisco in our V.E.T.S Club exclusive: The art of bandaging a cat in December. Crisco’s wound had been healing day by day, and although it was unable to heal completely, it had contracted sufficiently that it could be operated on.
Crisco underwent surgery where the Vet Team removed the scarred granulation tissue and closed the wound. She is currently recovering in our Welfare section on her journey to the adoption rooms.
The staff note that she has the sweetest personality and a gentle and kind nature. She even introduced herself to our training cat.
Crisco has been in our care for 74 days so far.
As a V.E.T.S. Club member it is your subscription that allows the Ten Lives vet team to provide the much needed care that these cats received. So, thank you.
