We are looking for experienced Cert IV qualified veterinary nurse/s to join the vet team at Ten Lives Cat Centre.

Ten Lives is a self-funded organisation which exists to shelter and help cats and kittens, and to work with and educate the Tasmanian community on methods and benefits of responsible cat ownership. We work to care for cats, our environment, and our community; our triple bottom line – people, the planet … and pussy cats.
Our decisions for the treatment of a cat are not based on cost or time. We consider our capacity to care and the specific individual circumstances, ensuring all humane, veterinarian and world’s best practice considerations for the best outcome for the cat. It is our priority to make sure every cat has the best possible opportunity to live free from suffering and fear.
About the position
Hours of work would be between 8.30am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday and the number of shifts per week will be negotiated with the successful applicant/s. This role is suitable to somebody looking for additional work but who does not rely on fixed hours.
Applicant need to be:
- Highly experienced with anaesthesia
- Highly experienced and confident with low stress cat handling or willingness to learn
- Flexible with days available to work
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Good computer skills
- Positive attitude
- Good problem-solving skills
- Great teamwork

Successful applicant will:

- Expand their skill set with shelter medicine, behavioural modification and high frequency surgery while maintaining the highest medical standards.
