Recently, we encountered four little souls – Polly, Petey, Peanut and Piere.
Their story began on December 7th when they were heartlessly abandoned on the side of the road. A kind samaritan rescued them and took them to the Animal Emergency Service after-hours vet. On the morning of December 8th, we welcomed them into Ten Lives. Following a examination by our devoted vet team, they were placed in the nurturing care of one of our specialised neonate foster carers.
These innocent kittens, who were fortunate enough to be discovered and placed in specialised care, were spared the harsh realities faced by many abandoned kittens. Unfortunately, for those not as lucky, they often arrive covered in fleas, ticks, mites, or ringworm, coupled with the burden of cat flu or gastrointestinal issues.
Fast forward one week and Polly, Petey, Peanut and Piere were not only happy and healthy but also gaining weight steadily. They had reached the point where they were ready to transition from gruel to solid foods, marking a significant milestone in their journey to a brighter tomorrow.
Can kittens like Polly, Petey, Peanut and Piere count on your support?
We extend our heartfelt thanks to those who have already contributed to our 2023 Christmas Giving Appeal. Your generosity enables us to meet the increasing demand for our services, especially during the summer months when we experience a surge in cats needing our assistance.
As a non-profit organisation without government funding, we rely on compassionate individuals like you to bridge the financial gap that allows us to care for every vulnerable feline entering our Centre.
Ten Lives remains steadfast in its commitment to providing every cat or kitten the chance they deserve, but we can only achieve this mission with your ongoing support.
If you have already made a donation, we sincerely thank you for your kindness. If not, we kindly ask for your help in making a difference in the lives of the cats and kittens of Tasmania who urgently need our assistance this Christmas.
Wishing you a joyous holiday season filled with warmth and happiness.
