Adopt Shelley

Meet Shelley! Shelley is an adorable tabby who loves pats and chin scratches. She is very relaxed, affectionate and enjoys company. She will repay your kindness and love with purrs. If you're looking for a calm and gentle friend to snuggle on the couch with, Shelley is the one for you! Whilst Shelley loves to snuggle up on a warm lap, she does not enjoy being picked up and would prefer to have all four paws on the floor. Shelley has previously had a negative experience with dogs, due to no fault of her own. We are unsure how she would handle sharing her space with another cat or cat-friendly dog. Because of this we highly recommend SLOW introductions for the best outcome. Please speak with our friendly reception team for information on how to best achieve this. Shelley is overweight. We are managing her weight loss with Hills Metabolic food. We recommended continuing with this in her new home until she reaches her ideal weight. (4.1-4.3kg) We are happy for the adopter to keep in touch regarding weight loss progress. Shelley has had an episode of inappropriate toileting whilst in foster care. When given soft clumping litter she uses the litter tray without any issues. Some cats are particularly fastidious (clean) and will toilet outside the tray if it has been used already that day. Providing multiple trays (2-4) can resolve/ prevent these cats from toileting outside the tray. Whilst inappropriate toileting can indicate a medical problem, we have assessed this cat and there are currently no medical issues of concern. Shelley is desexed, microchipped and toilet trained. Vaccinations, flea and worm treatments are up to date.
