Meet Penny! Penny is a beautiful girl with a quiet meow. Once she gets to know you she's very loving and will jump up on laps to snuggle or lay on the bed at night with you. One of her favourite things is her grooming glove. Don't be fooled by her senior years - she still enjoys playing with toys. Penny had a blood test, which showed a mildly elevated SDMA. SDMA can be early marker of kidney disease. All other markers of kidney health that were tested are normal. We recommend proactively feeding a senior diet or kidney specific diet to help with kidney function. We recommend regular checks with your veterinarian every 6-12 month (this may include blood and urine tests). Penny has had an episode of inappropriate toileting whilst in foster care. When given clay litter they use the litter tray without any issues. We recommend continuing to provide them with clay litter to avoid any inappropriate toileting in the future. Whilst inappropriate toileting can indicate a medical problem, we have assessed this cat and there are currently no medical issues of concern. Penny is desexed, microchipped and toilet trained. Vaccinations, flea and worm treatments are up to date.
