Ten Lives was delighted to take part in the recent launch of the Glenorchy Treasure Trail—a brilliant new initiative by Glenorchy City Council designed to celebrate sustainability, community spirit and the charm of second-hand shopping.

Officially launched on Friday, 6 December with a vibrant pop-up op shop event on the Council lawns, the Trail showcases nine op shops stretching from Moonah to Claremont. These hidden gems invite locals and visitors to explore, discover preloved treasures and support the broader goal of waste reduction.

Ten Lives contributed to the event with our own pop-up op shop, sharing our message of sustainable living and animal welfare. Every purchase made through our shop helps fund the care and rehoming of cats in need, proving that shopping second-hand can create real, tangible impact.

“This initiative is about more than sustainable fashion,” said Glenorchy Mayor Sue Hickey at the event. “It supports individuals experiencing disadvantage, encourages community volunteering, and allows shoppers to connect with neighbouring businesses while hunting for unique treasures and amazing bargains.”

At Ten Lives, we couldn’t agree more. The Glenorchy Treasure Trail is a powerful reminder that embracing the principles of reduce, reuse and repurpose not only helps protect the environment, but also strengthens the fabric of our community.
