In just one week since its launch, Ten Lives’ “Meow Meals” Feline Food Assistance Program has received an outpouring of support from the community and is making a significant impact on both feline companions and their owners with over 150 food packs already distributed.
The program, designed to assist individuals and families facing financial constraints in providing essential food for their beloved cats, has had an amazing response, with demand for assistance packages exceeding early expectations.
One of the most remarkable aspects of the program’s success has been the generous donations from individuals and businesses alike. Donations of wet and dry cat food, paper bags, Ziploc bags and financial contributions have been gratefully accepted, ensuring the sustainability and expansion of the program in the future.
CEO Noel Hunt expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support received. “We are truly humbled by the generosity of our supporters,” he said. “It’s heartwarming to see how the community has rallied behind this initiative, demonstrating their deep compassion for both cats and their owners in times of need.”
The impact of the ‘Meow Meals’ program extends beyond immediate food assistance. Recognising that the financial strain experienced by some recipients may be temporary, there have been heartwarming instances of recipients expressing their gratitude by asking if they can give back once they are able to do so.
This highlights the program’s role not only in providing essential support but also in fostering a sense of community and mutual assistance among those involved.
Ten Lives is committed to sustaining and expanding the reach of the program, with the aim that fewer cats are surrendered due to financial hardships. Through ongoing community support and collaboration, Ten Lives aims to make a lasting difference in the lives of cats and their families.
“Every donation, no matter how large or small, will make a difference in the lives of these cats and their families,” Mr. Hunt said.
