A true community project

With many community projects already under his belt, Ten Lives Ambassador Dave Noonan knew that when he asked Tasmanian Businesses for help with our Building Project he would get it.

“I went to the Podmatrix boys and said ‘would you like to get involved with this project?’ and straight away they put their hand up.” Dave said.

Craig Swan and Josh Muskett from Podmatrix were invited for a tour of the Centre, “Noel and the team gave us a better understanding of the service that they do provide to the community.” Craig said, “It’s amazing what they do, way above and beyond what we thought, so it’s important that they get corporate support in their project.”

Podmatrix’s innovative offsite construction technique means there will be less disturbance than a traditional build onsite at the Cat Centre.

“It’s going to be possible to construct the pods offsite in Cambridge where Podmatrix is and bring them in, and over a couple of days put them in. There will be about 15 to 17 pods involved in the whole project, they go in as individual little units and connect up.” Dave said.

“There are so many ways that people can help, everything from electricians to plumbers.” Dave said, “As the project goes on we’re going to need that support and the more in-kind support, the better we are.”
